CFO needed for N Carolina

Client is a new used-oil-re-refining plant with a capacity to refine 4 Million gallons/year. The plant will become operational in April 2011. The investors have plans for expansion of the business in the eastern part of USA.

THE POSITION

Role
The CFO will be responsible for all aspects of financial management. This role will provide key leadership in corporate and operational financial functions, including financial and operational control; purchasing; business integration; systems integration; consolidation; capital formation; planning, forecasting and analysis; cash flow (sources, uses); treasury; audit; taxes; certain HR and employee benefit responsibilities; investments and corporate development activities. In addition, this role will support sales with transacting, contracts, pricing and analytics on sales/product/customer data.
This individual will function as a strategic business partner, an enabler and a problem solver in strategic issues facing the Company, using management expertise and finance as a business tool. The CFO will develop relationships to establish and maintain visibility, credibility and strong interface with (1) the CEO; (2) financial institutions; (3) the balance of the management and operating team; and (4) external partners such as auditors, attorneys, bankers, etc.



Key Areas of Responsibilities:

Be directly involved with the daily financial oversight and management of the company
Oversee long-term budgetary planning and assess organizational performance against the annual budget as a true business partner to the CEO and management team
Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
Take charge of the financial and reporting aspects of the Company including continuous and ongoing analysis of results to identify and highlight trends and thoroughly explain anomalies and variances in operating results.
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
Secure project finance, handle banking relationships, and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.

THE PERSON



Qualification:
An undergraduate business, finance or accounting degree.
A CPA and/or CMA professional certification is strongly preferred; an MBA would be helpful but not required.
Experience:
At least 10 years of progressive financial management experience and leadership experience in a tightly controlled financial management system in industry
Experience in refinery/process industry with a track record for excellence in managing costs and improving margins
Experience in project finance and network with financial institutions

Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
Good with numbers and know how to successfully manage operating risks in highly variable situations
An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
Creativity, with experience funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins. Experience working with PE funded companies would be helpful
