Hiring Business/ Technical Analyst in Woodlands, TX

The PCI Technical Analyst is a member of the IT group responsible for providing critical system support for the gas and power trading unit. The Technical Analyst will be part of the team responsible for the maintenance and development of the PCI (Bid-to-Bill) system, and will work with the development group in the maintenance and development to satisfy business needs.  In conjunction with the central IT teams (Europe), the Technical Analyst will also ensure that all systems are properly evolved through the Software Development Life Cycle methodology, tested and placed into production when ready. The Technical Analyst will interact with the Process Support team which is in charge of the first line of support for user issues, providing business input to IT.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 

·         Knowledge of software development cycle, defining requirements, designing technical solution, preparing unit and user acceptance test cases, and documentation

·         A minimum of 1 years of experience providing support for PCI, with experience in both Natural Gas and Power commodities

·         Experience using the PCI system is required

·         Experience with Allegro ETRM system for Gas and Power is valuable

·         Extensive working knowledge of SQL queries

·         High level capability working with Excel

·         Understanding of natural gas / power deal entry, scheduling, risk, credit operations, confirmations, month-end accruals, settlements, and payment & collection

DUTIES:

·         Monitor application performance and identify causes that could impact system stability

·         Assisting on the identification and resolution of system gaps and recommend changes

·         Act as liaison between user’s functional requirement and Development team, suggesting ways to better attend business needs

·         Maintain and register administration and technical tasks in a system of records

·         Assist users with PCI and system integration usage and issue identification/classification

·         Help develop and perform unit and regression testing on custom functionalities

·         Assist the business Process Support in performing user acceptance tests

·         Provide support for PCI and its integration with external and corporate systems (Allegro)

·         Understand PCI’s Deal Manager and GenManager module design to support activities around standard functionality and custom developments

·         Install new PCI releases and upgrade system components

·         Administer security and status of multiple development, testing and production environments

·         Work with the vendor’s Client Services support team to solve application technical problems

·         Participate in projects related to Allegro and PCI systems in order to guarantee application continuance
