Hiring Engineering Head - Any global location

A mechanical engineer with a minimum experience of 15 years in the field of Air Conditioning Engineering preferably with significant experience in the Railway HVAC and the Mobile /Transport HVAC at large. Should have lead & developed an engineering team in the product design & development in the Air-conditioning field. He should have the capacity to engage with customers on technical discussions, gain a comprehensive understanding of their technical requirements for the project at hand and prepare the technical proposal and work as key member of the design & development of the HVAC product required on Railway projects. He should have specific experience in responding to the customer’s RFQ including a detail analysis of clause by clause review process that would need to be carried out. Railway HVAC projects that client undertakes would be for Metro Rail market (passenger coach & drivers cabin), locomotive driver’s cabin HVAC system, locomotive engine /machine room cooling projects, HVAC systems for long distance trains & suburban trains etc. He also should have a high degree of competency & working knowledge of design & drafting platforms such as AUTOCAD, Solid works, Pro-Engineer, CATIA, ARI, HTRI. It is also essential for the candidate to have worked extensively on blower, fan & Coil selection softwares. A detail understanding of Engineering concepts such as FMEA & FEA will be an advantage. It is important that the candidate has experience in concepts such as RAMS & LLC & to use his knowledge of these concepts at the design phase of the product for each project that is undertaken by the Company. Should have the necessary expertise in area of preparing heat load calculations, selection of all key components required for building the refrigeration system for a Railway HVAC product is absolutely necessary for this position. Capable of handling the Engineering department that would include but not limited to the day to day guidance to existing team members including selection & training of new team members on the product design & development cycle in order to build further the existing engineering department. The candidate must have the ability to optimize /re-engineer existing designs in order to reduce cost of the HVAC products of the company. Closely coordinate with the company’s production department as a support function in order to build prototypes units. Work closely with Purchase department to continuously identify & evaluate additional and/or alternate sources for raw materials & components. Perform technical audits at suppliers production site as & when needed. Should have at least a few years of hands on experience of the various in-house (including but not limited to performance & capacity tests) as well external tests (including but not limited to vibration tests) involved for Railway HVAC products to meet specific customer requirements. Interact closely with the relevant inspection & approving authorities appointed by the customer for getting the prototype units cleared. Client is willing to relocate the individual (if desired) to any of their offices in US/ India or Europe.
